Overview
One Breath lets users choose distracting apps and create rules for specific days and times. When a selected app comes to the foreground, One Breath presents a pause screen before access continues.
The experience is designed around intentional friction: enough to interrupt an automatic tap without turning digital wellbeing into punishment.
Three Levels of Friction
- Wait — a short countdown before the app can be opened.
- Challenge — type a generated phrase or complete a local color-photo challenge.
- Full block — keep the selected app unavailable until the scheduled rule ends.
Privacy by Design
Rules, preferences, and progress history remain on the device. One Breath has no user accounts, advertisements, analytics, or developer-operated data server. Its Android Accessibility Service reads only the foreground app identifier required to apply user-created rules and does not retrieve screen content.
